Glue Line

Summary

Our customer, specializing in conveyor solutions, received a request from their client to create a glue line filter manufacturing process. We were assigned the responsibility of delivering electrical and automation services. Our task includes panel wiring and programming the PLC to control the complex conveyor operations at specific intervals and coordinating commands to the robot arm for precise glue application.

Solution:

We were invloved early on in the concept to design and build an nz based solution to eliminate the difficulties in shipping products from other countries.

Our electrician was dispatched to handle comprehensive panel wiring tasks, including the main power supply connection, sub-circuit wiring, emergency stop system, connecting Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) to motors, as well as wiring PLC inputs and outputs. The electrician demonstrated expertise and conducted on-site Input-Output testing to ensure correct connectivity. 

Simultaneously, our automation engineer created the PLC program, enabling bi-directional communication with the robot arm for precise control of conveyor start/stop timings. Furthermore, the engineer implemented diverse recipes, streamlining the process by allowing the robot to handle various sample shapes with a single button click.
