Kingwood Furniture had acquired a second-hand extract blower system. The original control board had been badly damaged and modified to point of unsafe and ineffective operation.
The first requirement therefore was to reverse engineer the control system as a baseline, the identify the faults and redesign a new control system. Allowing for a fully automated pushbutton functionality as well as individual manual switches and run and fault indication. New board layout, new distribution pan assembly, contactors, timers.
Solution:
Due to the explosive hazard present, the existing sock vibrators needed to be replaced with EX rated motors, appropriately rated glands, steel wire armor cabling all installed.
Motor isolators were then mounted outside the hazardous area allowing for individual isolation as required. New cable support was mounted to run all motor cables back to the control board in a neat and tidy manner.
Achievement:
•Full assembly rebuild.
•Control system engineering
•Hazard area (explosive) installation
•VSD control main blower motor, with amp monitoring.
